Ephesians 6:10-17

Finally, draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power.
Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the devil.
For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens.
Therefore, put on the armor of God, that you may be able to resist on the evil day and, having done everything, to hold your ground.
So stand fast with your loins girded in truth, clothed with righteousness as a breastplate, and your feet shod in readiness for the gospel of peace.
In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield, to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Blessed Virgin of the Rosary of Pompeii at the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth

Alongside the many works expressing the devotion of the world towards Mary, there is now in the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth, a stained-glass window representing the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary of Pompeii. This was donated by the Lieutenancy for Southern Tyrrhenian Italy of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem which recently visited this area for the annual pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

The work, a polychrome glass window about 3 meters high and 1 meter and 80 cm wide, was blessed on June 4 during a holy mass celebrated inside the Basilica.

The author of the work is the artist from Campania, Don Battista Marello, while the company Vetrate Artistiche Fiorentine has been entrusted with its realization. The stained-glass window shows the painting of the Madonna of Pompeii, venerated throughout the world, Bartolo Longo, the only lay blessed of the Equestrian Order, the facade of the Sanctuary that, at the end of the nineteenth century, he himself founded in the city of Campania along with works of charity related to this, and a large crown of the Rosary.

TOMMASO CAPUTO (Archbishop Prelate of Pompeii): "This representation reminds us that the crown of the Rosary is an instrument for reaching our Saviour accompanied by our Mother: because the Rosary is a Marian prayer with a Christological heart."
